ENC1102 Course Outline & Grades

All assignments are "Complete/Incomplete" or "Pass/Redo."

• Opportunities to "Complete" Engagement Activities will occur during class times throughout the semester at the instructor's discretion.
• Written assignments returned as "Redo" may need multiple re-submissions before receiving a "Pass."

To receive a passing letter grade in this course, students must "Complete" and "Pass" a certain combination of assignments to "unlock" each letter grade, as outlined below.

To achieve a "C" grade in this course, students must "Complete" and "Pass" the following assignments: 

• REQUIRED Narrative Analysis Research Project Components
• REQUIRED Final Portfolio Assessment

In addition to:

• 2 Screening Reports (student choice)
• 1 Close-Reading Response (student choice)
• At least 3 Engagement Activities

To achieve a "B" grade in this course, students must "Complete" and "Pass" the following assignments: 

• REQUIRED Narrative Analysis Research Project Components
• REQUIRED Final Portfolio Assessment

In addition to:

• 3 Screening Reports (student choice)
• 2 Close-Reading Responses (student choice)
• At least 4 Engagement Activities

To achieve a "A" grade in this course, students must "Complete" and "Pass" all listed assignments:

• REQUIRED Narrative Analysis Research Project Components
• REQUIRED Final Portfolio Assessment
• All Screening Reports
• All Close-Reading Responses
• At least 5 Engagement Activities
